Programs & Services

R.I.T.E. of Way delivers prevention-focused support through six core service areas:

Emotional Regulation & DBT Skills Program

Our Emotional Regulation & DBT Skills Program helps youth develop healthy coping strategies, emotional awareness, and decision-making skills through the foundations of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Participants learn practical tools for managing intense emotions, handling stress, improving communication, building self-control, and navigating difficult situations in healthier ways. Through interactive discussions, real-life scenarios, and guided skill-building exercises, youth are empowered to respond to challenges thoughtfully rather than react impulsively.

Healing Circles

Our Healing Circles program provides youth with a safe, supportive space to process trauma, build emotional awareness, and strengthen resilience through guided group discussions and culturally responsive healing practices. Using restorative approaches, storytelling, DBT-informed strategies, and peer connection, participants learn healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, self-reflection, and positive communication in a community-centered environment.

Love Thy Roots Mentorship Program

The Love Thy Roots Mentorship Program helps youth strengthen their identity, confidence, and sense of purpose through mentorship, cultural exploration, and personal development. Participants are guided by mentors with lived experience and engage in conversations around self-worth, relationships, accountability, emotional growth, leadership, and community connection to help them build a strong foundation for adulthood.

Violence Interruption Program

Our Violence Interruption Workshops are designed to help youth recognize emotional triggers, manage conflict, and make safer decisions during high-pressure situations. Through interactive activities, real-life scenarios, DBT-informed strategies, and mentorship-based discussions, participants develop practical tools for emotional regulation, communication, de-escalation, and violence prevention both in school and in the community.

Family Support and Caregiver Sessions

The Family Support and Caregiver Sessions program equips parents, guardians, and caregivers with practical tools to better support youth experiencing emotional, behavioural, or environmental challenges. Sessions focus on trauma-informed care, communication strategies, emotional support, recognizing signs of distress, and strengthening healthy family relationships to create safer and more supportive home environments.

Youth Support Line

A confidential support line offering real-time guidance to youth who need someone to talk to before making a decision that could permanently alter their lives. This service functions as immediate violence and crisis prevention.

Mentorship & Lived-Experience Guidance

Our Mentorship & Lived Experience Guidance program pairs youth with mentors who have overcome personal life challenges and can provide meaningful one-on-one support, guidance, and encouragement. Through trusted mentorship relationships, youth receive real-life insight, emotional support, accountability, and positive guidance to help them navigate challenges, build confidence, and make healthier life decisions.

Counseling & Therapeutic Support

Licensed social workers and therapists provide one-on-one and group counseling addressing trauma, anger, grief, emotional regulation, and identity development.

Community-Based Outreach & Violence Prevention

Outreach workers deliver workshops, education, and early intervention in schools, community organizations, and priority neighbourhoods, serving as a bridge into R.I.T.E. of Way’s services.
